Today was a day to smile

In the height of all this political crap my Alexa had her first hike since back surgery for severe scoliosis. This is what today is about. Been near two years since she could even do anything without pain. Grateful to get this picture at work and grateful for her dear friend. ❤️ Just happy and grateful today.

  1. This is simply wonderful!

    • Thank you Wendy! I was so excited she could finally see one of favorite falls! We used to hike it every summer as a family but haven’t been in a couple summers due to her back.

amazing news, amazing photo! i did not know you had a daughter nor about her back good to hear she is doing well.Grateful indeed!

    • Thank you Lovie! Yep I have two daughters. They are 18 months apart. One will be 17 in April ( She’s the one with scoliosis ) and one that’s 18 and in her first year of college. Yeah, my youngest has severe scoliosis. The curve was so bad before surgery her shoulder blades were way out of alignment. She had worn two, $3,500 each custom back braces to try to stop the curve from getting worse. They were like a tourniquet! Just awful. Surgery was 9 hours and recovery was hell but she’s healing and doing great now! ❤️
